WHO WE ARE
The real star of Terrace Hill is the land. The sunsets are stunning, the terrain is rolling, and the soil is perfect. This seed of an idea continues to grow from that beauty.
This special place could have easily become many things—a subdivision, a cider brewery, or a giant home. Our mission is to honor what was already here.
We are friends and long-time creative partners working together. Each brings our unique vision and shared love for the Hudson Valley to Terrace Hill. We are here to work hard, and make it pretty—it’s who we are, both individually and collectively.
Starting with a blank slate is both thrilling and, yes, completely overwhelming at times. Each season reveals something new for all of us.

Mark, Plantsman & Master Gardener
When Mark, our resident Master Gardener and plantsman, arrived; we were deep in the “overwhelmed phase”.
He’s transformed Terrace Hill through his keen eye for detail and uncanny instinct for exactly what needs to be done. He can build it, drive it, move it, plant it, nurture it and keep everything running smoothly day after day.
This coming year, Mark shifts from infrastructure to his true passion—plants and making everything look awesome for us and our clients.

Sine, Artisan & Color Expert
As a natural artist, Sine brings beauty to everything she touches. She has planted, potted (and repotted), weeded, seeded, and pruned hundreds of peonies, thousands of tulips, fritillaria, and layered many a bulb lasagna. She also nurtures all the perennials we have on property, it’s a lot of work but she somehow keeps everything rolling.
Through countless seasonal trial and error moments, she’s helped to create something extraordinary at Terrace Hill.
Come by and see our Color Stories come to life through Sine’s eyes. When you sit down with her and walk though your garden plan, you will feel confident in the path forward and she will help you make your garden look the way you want it.
We’ve also been growing flowers for drying, pressing, and fresh bouquets. Dried and pressed flowers have a timeless quality and the way she brings it all together are true works of art.

Martin, Planning & Photography
Martin grew up in a gardening family with roots at the great Wisley garden in the UK.
All our photography is captured by Martin Crook, a longtime collaborator and friend whose exceptional eye spans all aspects of our work.
Martin has been integral since day one. He drives the aesthetics of our vision, helping us break free from convention while remaining practical and realistic.
His photography tells our story, particularly in how we elevate the way we document and share information with our clients.
When you visit Terrace Hill to discuss garden designs or plant lists, you’ll see Martin’s work bringing our vision (and yours) to life.
Flower photography prints are available —email us at hello@terracehill.co.

Max, Landtender
Max helps keep the land tidy and alive. Raised in nature, he continues to absorb knowledge, like a sponge, every day.
As our resident succulent expert, Max has transformed tiny baby cuttings into thousands of wonderful creatures. These resilient plants not only survive against odds, but they’ll brighten any room with surprising blooms, unexpected leaf patterns, and ever-changing shapes. Give them some light, occasional water, and you’re set.
When you’re at Terrace Hill you’re witnessing the fruits of all his hard work.

Lucie, Host
Lucie brings calm and clarity to everything. She grew up all over the world but spent many years in France hosting travelers in her small village.
She perfectly conveys our story, guides you through the property, and helps you choose the path that fits your budget and garden personality.
